COMMUNITY CENTRE REOPENING

From 4th July, changes in the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions allow for the opening of some indoor activities and hospitality businesses.

Cottenham Community Centre is largely a volunteer organisation and there is a lot to plan and do before we can reopen in a COVID safe way. Our priority has always been to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our customers, volunteers and staff, whilst trying to provide a place for everyone to meet and socialise.

With that in mind, we are pleased to announce that that we will open all the Community Centre facilities that we can, in a COVID safe way, in phases from the 3rd of August.

Meeting spaces will be the first to open, where groups from around the village can plan to meet in a safe environment and we hope to be able to offer a limited refreshments menu.

The Coffee Shop will open on the 7th of September. Due to the continuing restrictions, there will be changes, but we will get as close to how it was as we can. From the same date, the rear hall will be available for booking. At the moment, exercise type classes wouldn’t be allowed, but hopefully the guidelines will have changed by then.

We are also planning to run a Community Cinema event as soon as possible, again in August or September.

If we can open sooner than these targets then we will. As soon as we have more information on how things will look, we will let you know.

In the meantime, we are working on detailed plans on how to reopen the facilities and we are really looking forward to seeing you back, later in the Summer.
