Newsletter August 2013

The coffee shop will re-open on Mon 2 September at 10am. We apologise to our customers for any inconvenience during this 2-week closure.

The Coffee shop normal opening time is 10.00 – 4.30 on Monday and 10.00 – 2.00 Tuesday to Saturday. A great place to relax or meet whilst enjoying a tea/coffee or lunch.

The closure time, to allow our hardworking volunteers to have a break, is being well used by the trustees and craftsmen!

Shutters have been fitted around the kitchen in the coffee shop to make it easier to let the coffee shop area for functions when the coffee shop is not open.  If you would like to hire this wonderful room do let me know.

We (with Miranda, our Pilates, BarreConcept and First Aid teacher mitimewellbeing@gmail.com) are changing the upstairs room into – “the Studio” with new sound insulation, colours, curtains, mirrors, ballet bar, cupboards and flooring. It is exciting to see the changes taking place. It should be ready for the new classes starting on 3 September (see below).

To access the Studio go around the building to the back past the fire escape and cycle racks and enter by the last door and go up the stairs.

The Fire escape has been re-furbished (and looks much more attractive) and a cage fitted below to restrict access to the air conditioning units.

In September, to make the staircase to the studio safe and attractive, it will be modernised and floored and a shoe rack, hanging space and seat installed on the half landing.

Look out for new classes both in the studio and main hall. There will be a number of workshops on Saturdays in the Studio.

Do come and join one of our exciting classes/meetings.

E-mail   smithmichaelstanley@hotmail.com to book.  Similarly if you would like to volunteer in the coffee shop, and improve your skills, do get in touch by replying to manager@cottenhamcc.org or phoning 01954 202109 during opening hours.

Electric heating/Air conditioning and Acoustic material has been installed in the main hall and further improvements are the new electrically operated doors in the corridor and into the main hall.

If you have not been in recently do come in and see us and see the changes. Please also encourage your friends to pop into the coffee shop.

If you, and/or your friends, would further like to support our exciting facility the website has a link to shop on-line with “easy fundraising”. It costs you nothing more but brings in extra income for CCC.

We have subscribed to the Performing Rights Society to cover copyright royalties. We also have an Entertainment licence that allows live music, films etc. as well as the sale of alcohol at certain events. This will save the need for Temporary Event notices.
