Newsletter March 2011

Cottenham Community Centre coffee shop now open Mon – Sat 10am – 2pm plus Founder membership available until 28 Feb.

Coffee Shop
What a great first two and half weeks– there has been a constant flow of people, a super buzz of conversation and compliments all round for the food & drink as well as the newly renovated building. The coffees are great and the scones, cakes, soup and baguettes and paninis wonderful.

Thanks to Jane (manager) and the team of dedicated volunteer helpers the coffee shop will now be open Mon – Sat 10.00 –2.00. The second hand bookstall is busy and the children’s corner with tables, chairs, play mat and toys much admired. There are now cycle racks on the Post office side of the building. There will be Wi-Fi very soon. Do come, bring your friends and try the food and drinks – it’s opposite the Co-Op on the High Street.

Founder Membership
Being a member by Monday 28 Feb. will entitle everyone to become a founder member and have their name listed on a plaque kindly made by Martin Graves from wood from the former pulpit as well as giving a discount on room hire and food and drink from a date in March. Membership is warmly welcomed. You do not of course have to be a member to use the facilities.
Volunteers
With the extension of opening hours we will need more volunteers. If you would like to help at this super new community facility and learn lots about catering do get in touch.

Back Hall
This has been double-glazed, is well heated and has a newly renovated floor. It is available for hire so if you wish to hire it for new classes to Cottenham or a party etc contact Julie Percival at the Corner shop.

Trustees
There is still a space for one more trustee, which might suit the parent of a young child. Do let me know if you would like more information.

Thanks and see you soon at the Cottenham Community Centre coffee shop.
