Newsletter December 2013

On Sat 30 November we will hold a craft sale, mainly in the hall, from 10-2 – do come along and have a look – a great place to buy your Christmas presents.

On Mon 16, Tues 17 and Wed 18 Dec Cottenham Primary School children will entertain you in the coffee shop at 11.15. Pop in to one of these to hear them sing and see their artwork.

On Saturday 21 Dec we will have Kristen Ellery entertaining us with Christmas Music and Carols from 11am in the coffee shop and again at 1pm in the main hall with mince pies etc. This was wonderful last year so do come to start your Christmas with a real feel good feeling. Histon Early Years will also be there with a stand to explain the super activities they provide for mums and babies/young children.

The coffee shop will close at 2pm on Saturday 21 Dec and re-open at 10am on Thursday 2 January 2014 We apologise to our customers for any inconvenience during this closure.  The closure is to allow our hardworking volunteers to have a Seasonal break

The Coffee shop normal opening time is 10.00 – 4.30 on Monday and 10.00 – 2.00 Tuesday to Saturday. A great place to relax or meet whilst enjoying a tea/coffee or lunch. We now provide 2 free newspapers as well as free Wi-Fi.

We (with Miranda, our Pilates, Fitness, BarreConcept and First Aid teacher mitimewellbeing@gmail.com) have changed the upstairs room into – “the Studio” with new sound insulation, colours, curtains, mirrors, ballet bar, cupboards and flooring. It is exciting to see the changes that have taken place. It is now ready and being used for the new classes. There is a photo on the website.

To make the staircase to the studio attractive, it has been modernised and floored and a shoe rack, hanging space and seat installed on the half landing.

To access the Studio go around the building to the back past the refurbished fire escape and cycle racks and enter by the last door and go up the stairs.

Look out for new classes both in the studio and main hall. There will be a number of workshops on Saturdays in the Studio such as Colour Awareness on Sat 14 Dec from 12.30 to 3.30. To book contact mitimewellbeing@gmail.com.

The hall is available most afternoons to book. You are now able to check bookings (and classes) by looking on the website at Function Rooms and then the room and looking for the date.

We are actively looking for new volunteers. If you would like to volunteer in the coffee shop, and improve your skills, do get in touch by replying to manager@cottenhamcc.org or phoning 01954 202109 during opening hours.

If you have not been in recently do come in and see us and see the changes. Please also encourage your friends to pop into the coffee shop.

Assistant Manager changes – Dawn is leaving. We thank her for her significant contribution in making the coffee shop so successful.  Jo is increasing her hours and a further appointment may be made soon as our policy is to always have a manager in charge of the coffee shop when open.

If you, and/or your friends, would further like to support our exciting facility the website has a link to shop on-line with “easy fundraising”. It costs you nothing more but brings in extra income for CCC.
