NOTICE

 

THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING of Cottenham Community Centre will be held at 7:30pm on Thursday the 21st February 2013 at Cottenham Community Centre, High Street, Cottenham, Cambridge at which the following business will be conducted.

 

AGENDA

1.       Apologies for absence.

2.       To approve the Minutes of the General Meeting held on the 9th February 2012.

3.       To receive the Chairman’s Report.

4.       To receive the Treasurer’s Report and to approve the Accounts for the year ended 31st December 2012. (At their meeting held on the 17th January 2013 the Trustees considered the accounts and recommended that they be accepted at the Annual General Meeting).

5.       To appoint a Committee of Trustees to serve from today until the next Annual General Meeting.

6.       To appoint a Chair.

7.       To appoint a Secretary.

8.       To appoint a Treasurer.

We will be very happy to have some more new trustees to help manage the centre. Please consider whether you would like to contribute in this active way.

The Coffee shop normal opening time is 10.00 – 4.30 on Monday and 10.00 -2.00 Tuesday to SaturdayIt will be 2 years old on 9 Feb!

Air conditioning has been installed in the back hall and Acoustic material will be installed there on 6/7 February. We are now planning further improvements. Come on 21 Feb to see and hear about the changes.

If you, and/or your friends, would further like to support our exciting facility the website has a link to shop on-line with “easy fundraising”. It costs you nothing more but brings in extra income for CCC.

We have applied for an Entertainment licence that will save the need for Temporary Event notices.

Alzheimers Society Information point will be here on Friday 1 March from 12-2 – do pop in to see them..

Classes – do come and join one of our exciting classes.

We have a sampler Rugby tots on Sat 2 Feb at 10.30 (aged 2-3.5) and 11.00 to 12.00 (aged 3.5-5.00). This will then run on 16 Feb and each Saturday morning  (not 2 March). On the second Saturday of each month it will be at 12 – 1.30 (i.e. after Dad’s play). For more information or to book contact andyk@rugbytots.co.uk

On Wednesday mornings at 10.30 we should, from 20 Feb, be running a Singing and Music Fun Time for babies and toddlers. Do come and join in and enjoy a coffee. More information from julia.featherstone09@gmail.com

On Wed afternoons for 10 weeks starting 13 Feb we plan to have an Action For Elders keep-fit etc session for older people from 2-4pm. It is intended to address issues such as Mobility, Falls Prevention and Loneliness. For more info contact Action4EldersUK@aol.com.

Dads Play: Every second Saturday of the month (including Sat 9 Feb), Arts Night: also monthly including 10 Feb 2013. Parenting courses: on Tuesdays 19 and 26 February for those with teenagers.

Messy Play Mondays 10.00 -11.00.  Zumbatronic Mondays 3.30 – 4.00pm.  Zumba Mondays 7.00 to 8.00pm

Yoga Tuesday 10.00-11.30. Total toning for pre and post-natal Tuesday 7.00-8.00pm upstairs room. Total Toning needs more expectant mums – please contact dbslp2@googlemail.com for info.

Whirl and Twirl Wednesday 7.00-10.00pm

Early Years Thursday 10.00-11.00.  Pilates Thursday 6.30-7.30pm for men. Pilates Thursday 7.30 to 8.30pm for mixed ability

Pilates Friday 10.00-11.00 for mixed ability. Yoga Friday 10.00-11.30 upstairs room

Saturday 2 February 10:30 – 11:30 Cello – classical and folk music in coffee shop with Fredi who is fundraising for international service.

Zumba Gold (mainly for the over-50s) will start on Monday afternoons from Easter. Let Jo Kinser (jo@jjkdancin.com) know if you are interested.

We are very keen to hire out the rooms and increase the number of volunteers so if you would like to hire one of our 3 rooms (main hall, small hall (upstairs) or coffee shop or if you would like to volunteer in the coffee shop, and improve your skills, do get in touch by replying to smithmichaelstanley@hotmail.com
